Harris Masket MD
Harris Masket, MD is board-certified in internal medicine with additional expertise in athletic performance and sports medicine, including acute injury management, injury prevention, and nutrition. In addition to being a concierge physician at BlueWave Medicine, Dr Harris is Co-Director of the Athletic Performance Lab at BlueWave Medicine.
Dr Harris has worked with patients with a variety of athletic experiences, from the elite and recreational athletes to those with no experience at all. He enjoys relating to his patients where they are most comfortable and believes that we are all athletes who just need to find our sport.
Dr Harris is an empathic physician who is dedicated to empowering patients to build a sustaining and enjoyable relationship with their body, mind and spirit. In his 20 years of practice, he has worked tirelessly to help people improve their vitality and quality of life. Dr Harris is a creative, out-of-the-box thinking physician leader with expertise working in multi-disciplinary teams. At BlueWave Medicine, he fosters a holistic and integrative approach toward patient care that includes the best that conventional, functional and lifestyle medicine can offer.
In addition to his primary care and sports medicine practice at UC-Berkeley, he was the Chief Urgent Care Physician at UC Berkeley from 2005-2022 where he supervised all medical care for over 12,000 annual visits. Dr Harris was a team physician in the Department of Athletics at UC Berkeley from 2003-2022, staffing the sports medicine clinics and providing sideline medical coverage for NCAA division I athletics. He served as the lead team physician for Cal Women’s Soccer, Cal Women’s Basketball and Cal Rugby, and also provided extensive event coverage for Cal Football, Gymnastics, Track & Field, and Water Polo. Dr Harris is a recognized national leader in the sport of Ultimate ‘frisbee’, as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for USA Ultimate since 2011 and as the current Team Physician for the Oakland Spiders franchise of the American Ultimate Disc League (2021-2023).
Dr Harris completed his residency training at Alameda County Medical Center, one of the top Primary Care Internal Medicine residency programs. He received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr Harris completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley, graduating with honors.
